If you're planning a holiday with us, then you've got the opportunity to do all sorts of other things while you're in the Oban area, and Scotland in general. You might also want access to other information about the places that we'll be travelling to and the wildlife that we might see. Our 'links' section contains a selection of websites that we think should be of interest to you. If you know of any others that you think would be useful to visitors to our site, or if you'd like to talk to us about a reciprocal link to your own site, then please email using this link

puffin by Bruce Pearson If you're interested in art, then have a look at wildlife artist Bruce Pearson's website. Well-travelled and versatile in his depiction of wildlife and wild places, Bruce will be leading our Awash with Colour cruises.

white-tailed sea eagle (c) Chris GomersallIf you've got an interest in photography, then check out the website of professional wildlife photographer Chris Gomersall, who is a regular guest and guide on board Chalice. Chris's technique is to capture wildlife 'as is' in its natural habitat and he'll be passing on more tips and techniques when he sails with us again in June.

the Northern Lights We often get asked, 'will we see the Northern Lights when we're on Chalice?' Well, maybe you will, and maybe you won't, but Scotland is certainly one of the best places in the UK to see them. This link takes you to a very interesting site that is packed with information.

The Sgurr of Eigg from ChaliceThe Island of Eigg is one of the group of Hebridean islands called the Small Isles, which lie between the south of Skye and Ardnamurchan. It has a small but vibrant community who own the island 'in trust'. It might not be the remotest of islands, but maybe we should pay it a visit...? Click here to find out why!

castle satlker (c) sue andersonIf you'd like to buy a stunning photographic print that will remind you of your cruise or would like a preview of some fantastic views of Scottish islands, then visit the website of professional photographer Sue Anderson whose work is known worldwide.

Ardnamurchan LighthouseArdnamurchan is a dramatically beautiful area of the west coast of Scotland, a haven of peace and tranquillity and known to many as part of Scotland's last great Wilderness (although you'll be seeing the famous lighthouse from the other direction!). If you're extending your stay in the area, then there's plenty to see and do.

the harbour at Muck The small island of Muck is the first island that we pass when sailing north from Ardnamurchan and the Sound of Mull. With a population of 30 it is the smallest populated island of the Small Isles of the Hebrides.

Wallsworth HallWallsworth Hall is in deepest Gloucestershire - nowhere near the Hebrides! - and is well worth a visit. It is the world's first museum dedicated exclusively to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature from any period, any culture and in any media.

waterfallsThinking about exploring some more of Scotland? Here is a website highlighting the beautiful Scottish Highlands in Wester Ross. Explore Scotland's beautiful sandy beaches, go hill walking, fishing and see more wonderful scenery, mountains and wildlife. If you'd like some more general Scotland travel resource information, then just click here .

Misty IsleIf you're visiting Skye the you must go on a sea tour with Seumus Mackinnonon his boat Misty Isle from Elgol up to Loch Coruisk. Seumas is a descendent of John Mackinnon who famously ferried Bonnie Prince Charlie to safety after hiding him in a nearby cave in July 1746. It would be hard to find a skipper with more knowledge and experience of local conditions.
