Taransay

Featured in the BBC television series 'Castaways', Taransay is the first island that we encounter when heading north after passing through the Sound of Harris (east-west). Our anchorage is in a wide sandy bay which gives good shelter from the north and west.

Taransay is an easy island to explore, with sandy beaches, rocky foreshores, dunes and an old bothy all within easy striking distance of our landing spot.
